The Alderpoint Clinic's Mission

As a satellite clinic of the Redwoods Rural Health Center, we share the same goals. Our mission for the Alderpoint, Zenia, Kettenpom, Blocksburg and Fort Seward areas is the same as Redwoods Rural's mission for ALL of Southern Humboldt, Northern Mendocino, and Southwestern Trinity.

Our mission is to provide responsive, preventive, high quality primary health care services through a variety of healing disciplines, to all people, without regard to social or economic status.

We emphasize the client's right and responsibility to participate in his or her own health care decisions.

It is our hope that the clinic be a place where the needs of the whole person are met -- body, mind and spirit.

Maureen says, "Take ALL your medication!"

Many people think that it's no big deal if they don't finish every pill when the doctor gives them a prescription, especially in the case of antibiotics. Sometimes when people start to feel better, they figure they don't need to complete their therapy

There are two main reasons why you need to take ALL your antibiotic pills.

  • Your infection is caused by bacteria. If you only take part of your medication, not all of these bacteria are eliminated. In fact, some of them become even stronger!

  • If you develop a more serious infection, you may have to spend more time and money getting rid of it. Maybe even including a hospital stay.

So take all your medication! If you have any questions about when or how often or why to take any medicine, call your doctor or your pharmacist or come by on Tuesday and talk to Maureen.
