Mail came to Blocksburg and Harris until 1911 when a post office was built in Alderpoint. Cadycorner from the post office there was a hotel. Next to the hotel was an ice cream parlor, dance hall, and a livery stable.
There was also the store which was burnt down in 1919. A gray church was built in 1950 and is still standing today.
